KALI SERVER

 What is a Kali Server?

Infinite Communications is striving to remain the leader in cutting edge services for its Internet customers. Infinite was the first in Northern Michigan to provide e-mail to FAX service to its subscribers, at a rate that makes sense. Now we are offering the first in a line of "Subscriber Enhancement" services, a Kali server. Our studies of network traffic have shown that many of our customers use the Internet to connect with other people to play "networkable" games. These range from electronic golf to battle games to motorcycle and automobile racing. A Kali server is what makes this much easier. By setting up a Kali server for our customers, Infinite will be providing the highest possible performance to the players of these games. Those Infinite users who make frequent use of network gaming will now be able to meet in Infinite’s Kali chat room to discuss which game they wish to play and launch the game. The server does not provide the game, you must own the networkable game you want to play. Some examples are Links LS, Road Rash, Duke Nukem 3D, Net Mech, and many, many others. In fact Kali servers support more games than any other, and provide the best exchange of data for the highest quality graphics. There will be no additional charge for this service, but we would ask that those who know how to use this server help those that are new (a good coach is a good friend), and help with support. It is usually very easy to negotiate a game in the chat room and get started. Many of the more common games can be launched directly from the Kali software. Please be advised that the chat room will be randomly monitored, and we will not tolerate harsh language, or anything else that we feel is in bad taste. In this realm we will be the final judge on what is good or bad taste, so keep it clean and friendly. Access to this server is a privilege, not a right, and we will block anyone that abuses the privilege.

Until we have a better idea as to the load this server will put on our resources, we will be limiting access to non-Infinite customers, in the following domains:

infinitecom.com
wfn.net
ptway.com
traverse.com
gtii.com
aliens.com
coslink.net
coslink.com
grandtraverse.com
cherry-capital.com
freeway.com
benzie.com
northlink.net

This gives your friends, that have their service through someone else, a chance to use the Kali server. But if they switch to Infinite, they will notice much better performance.

The trial client portion of the Kali software is available directly from the Kali software download site. The trial version is also on your Infinite Communication's software CD if you have one. This trial lets you play for fifteen miniutes then disconnects you from the server. Registering to get the full version costs $20.00 and can also be done online.

How to play: Once you have setup the Kali client on your computer, connect to the Internet. Once you are connected, run the Kali client. You will see a list of available servers. Find Infinite Communications' server and double click it. You are now in the chat room. Here you need to discuss with others which game you want to play, and who will (if needed) initiate the game. Once this is done start your game in network mode, and you are connected! It's simple!
